Q: How will the sunroom hold
up to harsh weather and elements?
A: Each of our sunrooms is designed to International
Residential Code (IRC) standards. We have designs for most regions
of the country to withstand any exterior conditions. Engineering
specifications are available for exact requirements. Vinyl is a
great insulator and does not deteriorate under weather conditions.
Q: What kind of warranty do you provide?
A: Our vinyl rooms are covered by a lifetime limited
warranty including lifetime glass breakage protection. It is even
transferable. A warranty is only as good as the company it represents.
Joyce Mfg. has been in business since 1955 providing customers with
quality built sunrooms. Our reputation depends on our everlasting
commitment to quality.
Q: Can you provide a cost per square foot?
A: We are wholesale only and provide our products through
a dealer network. Prices vary according to your dreams since square
footage is not the only determining factor in the cost of your sunroom.
We are a manufacturer of sunrooms and cannot determine the costs
in your area for floor construction (deck or concrete pad), supports,
attachments, etc. Your installing contractor will know these costs
better.
Q: What is a sunroom?
A: A sunroom is a cost efficient way to add space and
enjoy the outdoors without the bugs or the inclement weather. It’s
a place to relax and unwind, a place that can make your home feel
like a vacation. The great thing about an Oasis® vinyl sunroom is
it looks like it was meant to be part of the house.
Q: What sizes do sunrooms come in?
A: We offer over 150 promotional sizes, as well as custom
sunrooms. We have a size to fit your budget and your dreams.
Q: What about cost?
A: Because the addition of a sunroom to your home will
increase your home’s value substantially, you should think of a
new sunroom as an investment. The amount of investment varies depending
on the sunroom you would like to own: its size, style, and added
options. Sunrooms rank as one of the best returns on your investment.
Q: Who will install my sunroom?
A: We prefer qualified and trained mechanics, so you
can be sure that the people who install your sunroom are qualified.
Joyce™ offers installation training to its dealers. Check with the
installing dealer in your area. References always help.
Q: Does a skylight create more light and do they leak?
A: A skylight adds to the beauty and enjoyment of your
sunroom by allowing additional sunlight into key areas. When properly
installed they do not leak.
Q: How long does it take to install a sunroom?
A: Depending on the size and style, it may take as little
as one day to install your new sunroom. This does not count for
any preparation work. The vast majority are less than a week.
Q: Can a spa or hot tub be put in the room?
A: The answer is yes, providing you have met the proper
weight requirements for the floor. It is important to consider the
amount of space the hot tub will consume and the size of the room.
Hot tubs and spas do increase the humidity level of the room. It
is always recommended that you let your installing dealer know in
advance that you are considering a hot tub in your sunroom.
Q: Can I add a ceiling fan?
A: Definitely. Joyce™ provides a fan beam mullion for
the studio rooms to conceal the wiring. For a gable room it is mounted
to the ridge beam. You should make sure you have the proper clearance.
Q: What about adding electrical connections to the room?
A: Vinyl rooms (Leisure Room® Series) are available with
an electrical raceway package to conceal wiring. Rooms with raceway
packages are designed to National Electric Code (NEC) specifications.
Oasis® vinyl sunrooms also have the option of an electrical raceway
system that is a UL classified product by Underwriters Laboratories
Inc. (UL). Please consult your local electrician for regional requirements.
Q: Can I heat and cool the room?
A: With a vinyl Leisure Room® – yes. There are specific
requirements for safety and you must comply with local or regional
codes. Space heaters or non-vented gas heaters can be used. Many
choose to mount heating/air conditioner units in the wall. Again,
consult with your local contractor or call us for specifications.
